Project Overview

Banneker served as the prime general contractor for the transformation of more than 50,000 sq. ft. of GSA’s Regional Office Building in Washington, DC.

This design-build project employed a variety of innovative design, construction, operations, and management concepts to deliver new spaces that respond to and drive change in the federal workplace. The modernization project provided an efficient, cost-effective, flexible, and adaptable workplace within a historic structure that allows GSA to accommodate double the workforce.

This project is a showcase of and provides ground for state-of-the-art High-Performance Green Building and Smart Building initiatives, reinforcing GSA’s commitment to sustainability. Work for this project included new electrical, flooring, glass, paint, ceiling, kitchenettes, plumbing, and HVAC upgrades on several floors of the building.
