This 63,000 square foot recreation center and library is located in the Deanwood neighborhood of the District of Columbia. The new facility consists of co-located functions of the Department of Parks and Recreation and D.C. Libraries. It includes an indoor swimming pool, locker rooms, gymnasium, game room, library, childcare facilities, senior services area, kitchen, multi-purpose facilities and outdoor football field. Banneker oversaw the completion of the design, managed the procurement process for the general contractor, oversaw construction of the facility and managed the facility for six months until the District hired permanent staff to run the facility. This is the largest recreation center ever built in Washington, D.C. and is LEED Silver Certified.
