Community

The Banneker Foundation supports and participates in charitable initiatives in our communities.

Our goals are to establish economic development, provide emergency services to families in need, support STEM education and to uplift humanity. The Banneker Foundation encourages employees and partners to volunteer, contribute funds and services, and serve on Boards of local non-profit organizations. Since 2005, The Banneker Foundation has given over $600,000 in charitable contributions to over 30 non-profit and community member organizations.  Donations include emergency housing, scholarships, outreach to the homeless, and monies to international schools,  and faith-based organizations.

Internship Program

Banneker’s summer internship program introduces STEM focused young adults to the construction industry.

Our annual internship program, which employs high school and college undergraduate and graduate students, allows each student to help Banneker achieve its mission to Change the World. The 2019 Summer Fellowship program marks the 13th year that Banneker has had Fellows. This intensive, hands-on 10 week opportunity allows young people to work in various divisions within Banneker. In 2019, we were able to bring on fellows for our Real Estate Development Division as well as our Construction Division. For our Our fellows learn how to read drawings by trade, prepare bids, handle submittals and participate in buy-outs of contracts.
These students are exposed to progress meetings and on-site visits, witnessing the life cycle of projects from project management to field perspectives.  We further equip our interns by enrolling them in classes to obtain OSHA and Quality Control Management (QCM) certifications.  At Banneker Ventures, we value education and support young people who are eager to expand their construction and engineering knowledge.
