Project Overview

Construction manager for this 63,000 sq. ft. government-owned facility, which includes a full indoor gymnasium, indoor pool, computer laboratory, library, early childhood learning center, and outdoor football field. Banneker was hired after another CM firm failed to deliver the design drawings on time.

Banneker oversaw the completion of the design, managed the procurement process for the general contractor, oversaw construction of the facility, and managed the facility for six months until the District hired permanent staff to run the facility.
This is the largest recreation center ever built in Washington, DC, and is LEED Silver certified.
