The $32 million state-of-the-art community center and library was built in the Deanwood neighborhood of Ward 7, one of the least developed communities in the District of Columbia.

Banneker Ventures and District Officials Start Construction of Rosedale Community Center

Fenty, surrounded by Department of Parks and Recreation Acting Director Ximena Hartsock, Chairman of the DC Council Committee on Parks and Recreation, Harry Thomas, Jr., Ward 6 Councilman Tommy Wells and dozens of Ward 6 residents, officially started construction at the site when the Mayor climbed a bulldozer, and to rousing applause, began tearing down the existing facility. |

Banneker Ventures Set to Deliver Walker Jones Education Complex in Record Time
