Banneker Announces Completion of Construction of Building W218 at Washington Navy Yard

Banneker Ventures announced today that it completed the construction of Building W218 at the Washington Navy Yard. Banneker was awarded the construction contract by NAVFAC – Washington in 2011, which included the renovation of the entire 3rd floor of Building W218, which comprises of 11,000 sq. ft. of space. 

This design-build, fast-track project at a historic building, included designing the interior of the entire 3rd floor as well as the exterior for the stairs, demolishing and removing the existing flooring, ceiling tiles and grid, walls, plumbing fixtures and exterior stairs, and construction of new offices, new lighting switches and electrical outlets, new sink and countertop in existing kitchenette, doors, frames and hardware, new carpet, patch and paint, exterior stair, new HVAC system, upgrade fire alarm and detection system, modernize sprinkler system.
