Rockville, Maryland – November 2014. Omar A. Karim, President of Banneker Ventures was featured in the November 2014 issue of Ebony Magazine. The article highlights the President’s spirit in entrepreneurship and desire in changing the lives of Black men in his community.
Banneker’s Mantra—as captured in this article—Mr. Karim is quoted as saying “We’re trying to change the world and believe we can take people from depressed areas and give them an opportunity to develop skills and be a part of a five-office, Black-owned business.” Banneker Ventures hires Black talent (men and women) and will continue seeking those who have “…been passed over for a promotion... We find that skilled person and give him the promotion he deserves” states Mr. Karim. Black presence is underrepresented in several industries. As a minority owned company, we believe in giving opportunities to those who have worked hard but have not received fair acknowledgement and reward.
Banneker Ventures is a full-service construction development and facilities management company with offices in Maryland, Washington, DC and Denver, CO. An SBA 8(a) small business and HUBZone certified, Banneker provides value added services to government agencies, quasi-government agencies and commercial clients.
