Banneker received the Champion Award at the first Minority Small Business Construction Conference held at the Montgomery County Executive Office Building in Rockville, MD. The Minority Small Business Construction Conference is held each year to offer leadership and networking for minority businesses, local, state and federal government agencies; and elected officials. Montgomery County Executive Isiah “Ike” Leggett was the keynote speaker for the event.
“I accept this award on behalf of the hardworking men and women at Banneker Ventures”, said Mr. Karim as the recipient of the first Champion Award. Banneker Ventures celebrates ten years in business, this coming August. Starting out in real-estate, the company has successfully managed the construction of over 2M sq. ft. of government and commercial projects.
