DALE DRIVE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Dale Drive from Mansfield Road to Hartford Avenue, Silver Spring, MD

Banneker Ventures was the prime contractor on an infrastructure project that replaced 1,900 linear feet of underground utilities including water and sewer lines and construction of a new sidewalk with 2,630 linear feet of curb and gutters. The project encompassed the north side of Dale Drive from Mansfield Road to Hartford Avenue. We were also responsible for the construction of 360 linear feet of retaining walls varying from 3’ to 11’, and rebuilding of one-third of a mile of road in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland.

The project was a part of Montgomery County’s Transportation Improvements for New Schools program, which provides improvements for Montgomery County schools. Banneker helped the project increase public safety by providing a connection between existing sidewalks along Dale Drive, facilitating safe pedestrian access to Sligo Creek Elementary School, Silver Spring International Middle School, Sligo Creek Park and public transportation bus stops.

The project is being done in partnership with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, among the largest water and wastewater utility companies in the nation, with a network of nearly 5,600 miles of fresh water pipeline and more than 5,400 miles of sewer pipeline serving 1.8 million residents in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
