The firm is named in honor of the brilliant mathematician, astronomer and surveyor Benjamin Banneker who worked on the survey for the Federal District, which is now Washington, D.C. Born in 1731, Benjamin Banneker lived a life of unusual achievement. He was an astronomer, predicting future solar and lunar eclipses, compiling the ephemeris for annual almanacs which became top sellers in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, mathematician, and surveyor. In 1980, the U.S. Postal Service issued a postage stamp in his honor.

Using this traditional method of contracting affords our clients various contract options: lump sum, cost plus fee, or cost plus fee with a GMP. Banneker has the in-house staff and field forces to perform electrical and mechanical work.

Design-Build
Under this integrated approach, we work seamlessly with the design team, sub-contractors, consultants and the owner. This single-source responsibility for all design and construction activities provides timely information for intelligent decision making that can contribute to overall project efficiency.

Construction Management
Under this approach, we work as an extension of the owner. From initial design coordination through bid packaging and management of contractors and sub-contractors, our proven project management systems ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. We provide CM services as an agent for the owner or on an at-risk, GMP basis.
